Alexa Chung at the CFDAs. What an exciting thought for any fashion devotee. And the honorary New Yorker did not disappoint, ditching her dirty day-to-day flannel for a stunning scarlet Jason Wu frock. Of course as usual Ms Chung has tapped right into one of the hottest new trends, with the Little Red Dress boldly proclaiming itself the rightful heir to the red carpet throne.
But a word of warning if you do decide to follow in Alexa’s ballet-flat clad footsteps, when playing with fiery red, keep everything else simple. Otherwise you might end up looking a bit more Mrs Claus on a salsa holiday than loyal friend of Valentino.

We don’t care is she’s legally blonde or has the odd cruel intention, we heart Reese Witherspoon (a lot)! She’s got the ‘I love my kids but I ain’t not Soccer mum’ look down pat for weekends, and her red carpet moments are always bananas. Her take on cover style is pretty darn flawless too, plus we think it’s a perfect example of amped-up glam worked back to office-party-wearable by simply adding everyone’s favourite wardrobe staple, the tuxedo jacket. Even better it’s super easy to mimic – which is the sincerest form of flattery after all.
